16 months after the release of their debut album "Borders", SixTurnsNine are back with a new single. Primal Lines reveals a new, multi-layered facet of the Minimal-Non-Pop-trio consisting of singer Anja Valpiani, keyboardist and sound engineer Lutz Bauer and bassist Philip Akoto. Driven by a teasingly slow snare-heavy beat, Primal Lines creeps smoothly and evocatively into the ear. At the same time, the track also has a certain gloomy post-punk edge as well as warmth and bittersweet hippie vibes.

In terms of lyrical content, Primal Lines once again revolves around the inner conflict between self-determination and heteronomy. More specifically, it is about how difficult it is to follow one's own convictions steadfastly and clearly when a polyphonic choir of not really well-meaning counselors is used to persistently and selfishly exert influence.
